Tips on Easy to Maintain Gardens

1. Always remember to garden with nature not against it.
2. Hard surfaces are a very low maintenance approach, especially ideal in a small urban garden. If you have a larger garden, having the whole area paved may be expensive, however, gravel may be a cheaper option which is also very low maintenance for large gardens. You may even consider having both patio and gravel for large gardens to make the best use of money, and create the best look.
3. For easy low maintenance, it would make more sense to avoid time consuming border plants that demand effort to look their best. But to replace these with ground cover or evergreen shrub planting instead as they require much less time and effort to stay looking good.
4. Another suggestion to create an ideal garden with low upkeep, is adding a water feature. They are surprisingly low-maintenance and add a little something extra to your garden. Water features are predominantly found in hard surface gardens, if you are considering a hard surface garden we advise you to include a water feature – as the sound and movement of the water helps to counteract the rigidity of a hard surface. They are also very calming, and relaxing which will help you accomplish a true ‘zen’ feeling.
